Enrollment Steps
Enrollment Steps: The Waite Leadership Program (WLP) is NOT a scared straight program or a boot camp type program. Jr. Cadets who attend WLP will go through an interview process and volunteer to develop their leadership skills. If your child has behavioral problems and you are looking for a bootcamp/scared straight type program this is not what our program provides; please contact Sunburst Academy in Los Alamitos, CA (https://www.sunburstadmissions.com/).
ALL students are eligible to apply to attend WLP, including students not from NLMUSD.
This is a tuition-free public program open to ALL students in the southern CA area. Eligibility for WLP does not mean the student is accepted; admission to WLP is a process into a specialized Career and College ready program, in which all students must agree to attend. Admission into WLP is based on an interview process with the candidate and Parent/Guardian. During the interview with the Coordinator, the candidate must show a willingness to attend WLP. In addition, the Coordinator will view their academics, discipline, and attendance reports.
